I came to really appreciate this guitar's styling, playability, and sound - it looks great, plays easy, and its tone versatility is phenomenal! Whether sitting in for a quiet acoustic guitar/piano performance, or getting down to some crazy classic rock (or anywhere between) - there is always an appropriate tone setting in this guitar. With the great pickups and electronics, it can emulate the sound of a multitude of other bass guitars, from bright/twangy through warm/thump to growl. It weighs less than some 4-string basses, and is well-balanced on the strap. The mute/standby setting is useful between songs.

I bought this guitar off consignment at Eastcoast Music (Danbury CT) in 1997, and sold it in 2009. It's the only Fender guitar, and only 5-string bass that I've owned. I used it about twice a month for 4 years, and only occasionally after that. All has been light-use, no road tours or rowdy club gigs (all dings were courtesy of the former owner). I had a luthier do a full set-up when I bought it, but it hasn't needed any adjustments/maintenance since.

The guitar was in very good to excellent condition, given it's age. There's no fret or fretboard wear, no scratches or rub-throughs on the body. There's no hum or crackling in the controls. All chrome parts are free of rust/corrosion and the tuning machines hold pitch forever. The case is missing one of its 4 metal feet.
